Beginning on August 27, 2017, the “Dr. Claudia Show,” began.  It was a weekend talk radio show where I answered all manner of questions from teens who called in, grandparents, parents, first responders, teachers, physicians, and even the occasional community leader who wanted to know how to best support the families they served. Along the way, 1139 Parenting Pointers were created. You can find these 60-second radio “features” on the Parenting Pointers page.

The weekday show started at one hour, moved to two hours, and finally, it was a full-fledged call-in talk radio show airing every weekday.  We started on September 2, 2019.  You know what they say about “overnight success”?  Yep, it takes about 15 years.

We were signing affiliates and advertisers and were set to be the morning show for several large city stations when the pandemic took hold of the world. Our last show was in April 2020. Because the devastation of radio advertising dollars was widespread, we decided to call “time.” Neither our show nor local radio advertising has returned to previous levels. Doesn’t look as though it will, since many stations are going with the “big name plug-and-play” route.

We also hosted Facebook Live shows, where I answered questions in real time, and shared parenting insights. Many of those videos are now available to watch on YouTube!

Radio Americana may be a thing of the past, especially now that podcasts rule the audio space.

Be on the lookout for our podcast called, “Snap Out of It,” along with our two video series’ called “Sock Puppet Shink” and “Woods of Wisdom!”
